To open the protected documents in the EthosData platform, you may require to install our EthosData DRM (Digital Rights Management).

Additional requirements:

To open Office files with Microsoft Office 2010, 2013 or 2016

To open the protected Office documents (Word, Excel and Powerpoint) from the dataroom you need to disable the Protected View mode in each Microsoft Office application.

To do it follow the steps below:

Step 1: Open an Office application (Word, Excel or Powerpoint).

Step 2: Click File and then choose Options.

Step 3: Click Trust Center and then Trust Center Settings.

Step 4: Click Protected View and finally disable (uncheck) the first of the options listed (“Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet”).

After doing this, you will be able to open the protected Office files without problems (if the problem persists, you might need to reboot your computer).

Note: you need to repeat the above steps for each of the Office applications (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).
